DescriptionThe Vice President of Strategic Initiatives & Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a senior executive leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide innovation, digital transformation, and strategic growth across the Kahtnu Family of Companies. This role will lead the integration of AI-enabled solutions, data-driven decision-making, and advanced technologies into KDC’s core business lines, including Logistics, Aviation, Medical Services, Cybersecurity, and Quality & Compliance Implementation and Management.
The VP will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, aligning emerging technologies with KDC’s mission to deliver federal contracting excellence, operational efficiency, and long-term tribal economic sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
- Develop and execute KDC’s AI and Digital Transformation Strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Identify, prioritize, and lead high-impact strategic initiatives that enhance operational performance and competitive positioning.
- Serve as the executive lead for innovation pipelines, including emerging technologies, automation, and advanced analytics.
Artificial Intelligence & Data Strategy
- Design and implement AI/ML solutions across business operations, including:
- Predictive logistics and supply chain optimization
- Cybersecurity threat detection and response
- Workforce analytics and readiness modeling
- Proposal automation and business development intelligence
- Establish governance for ethical AI use, data security, and compliance (CMMC, NIST, FAR/DFARS).
- Build and oversee enterprise data architecture and analytics capabilities.
Federal Market Alignment
- Align AI initiatives with Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Agency, and Tribal Government requirements.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI into contract execution, proposal development, and mission support services.
- Support capture and proposal teams with AI-enabled competitive intelligence and win strategies.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Partner with leaders across:
- Operations
- Business Development
- IT/Cybersecurity
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure AI and strategic initiatives are embedded into KDC’s Management System (ISO 9001, CMMC L2, future CMMI L3 alignment).
Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
- Establish partnerships with technology providers, AI firms, academic institutions, and federal innovation hubs.
- Represent KDC in industry forums, government engagements, and innovation initiatives.
Governance & Performance Management
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure ROI of strategic initiatives and AI adoption.
- Lead enterprise change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new technologies.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in:
- Government contracting, strategy, innovation, or digital transformation
- Federal contracting or defense sector
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI/ML, data analytics, or automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of DoD/Federal acquisition environment (FAR/DFARS).
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CMMC) and secure data environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance/or ability to obtain a TS clearance.
- Experience supporting DoD, DHS, HHS, or HIS/BIA Government programs.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, CMMC Level 2, and CMMI frameworks.
- Experience scaling AI initiatives within small to mid-sized government contractors.

Work Environment & Travel
- Remote or hybrid work environment with frequent travel to customer sites, KDC offices, and industry engagements.
- Travel up to 25–40% may be required based on contract requirements.
