Project Scope:<\/span><\/b>
This position involves working within a <\/span>multi\-tier enterprise application environment<\/b> <\/span>that utilizes <\/span>MicroFocus Visual COBOL<\/b>, <\/span>Microsoft .NET (VB.NET\/C#)<\/b>, and <\/span>Oracle\/MS SQL Server<\/b> <\/span>databases.
The selected consultant will be responsible for developing new business functionalities, troubleshooting existing systems, and enhancing performance and reliability within the organization’s core business applications.The ideal candidate should possess strong <\/span>problem\-solving skills<\/b>, experience in <\/span>production support<\/b>, and the ability to work <\/span>independently<\/b> <\/span>while collaborating with both technical and business teams.<\/span><\/p>

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

• Analyze existing <\/span>COBOL<\/b>, <\/span>Web Service<\/b>, and <\/span>Batch<\/b> <\/span>business applications.<\/span>
  <\/li>
• Lead in <\/span>identifying and resolving system issues<\/b>.<\/span>
  <\/li>
• Propose and implement <\/span>technical solutions<\/b> <\/span>to meet business needs.<\/span>
  <\/li>
• Code, test, and deploy<\/span><\/b> <\/span>system updates following best practices.<\/span>
  <\/li>
• Provide <\/span>regular progress reports<\/b> <\/span>to the development manager.<\/span>
  <\/li> <\/ul>

  <\/p>

  Required Skills & Experience:<\/span><\/b>
  <\/p>

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field with <\/span>8+ years of experience<\/b>,
    or <\/span>10+ years<\/b> <\/span>of relevant experience without a degree.<\/span><\/li>
  • 8–10 years of <\/span>full\-stack system development<\/b> <\/span>experience in a <\/span>three\-tier environment<\/b> <\/span>spanning COBOL, .NET, Web\/Mobile, Oracle, and MS SQL Server.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Strong <\/span>DevSecOps<\/b> <\/span>background including release management, testing (beyond “happy path”), and team collaboration.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Proven experience in <\/span>COBOL development<\/b> <\/span>using <\/span>MicroFocus Visual COBOL<\/b> <\/span>in <\/span>Visual Studio 2019\/2022<\/b> <\/span>on <\/span>Windows Server 2022 (IIS)<\/b>.<\/span>

  • Proficiency in <\/span>application programming<\/b> <\/span>against <\/span>Oracle<\/b> <\/span>and <\/span>MS SQL Server<\/b> <\/span>databases.<\/span>
    <\/li> <\/ul>

    • Experience with <\/span>Visual Studio 2019+<\/b> <\/span>(Debugging)<\/span>

    • C# .NET<\/span><\/b> <\/span>development<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Strong <\/span>SQL<\/b> <\/span>experience (Oracle & MS SQL Server)<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • IIS<\/span><\/b> <\/span>configuration and setup<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • MicroFocus<\/span><\/b> <\/span>certifications<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • DevSecOps<\/span><\/b> <\/span>certifications<\/span>
