District Artificial Intelligence Coordinator (Curriculum, MTSS & EdTech Integration)

 

Position Summary

The District AI Coordinator leads districtwide implementation of AI through a curriculum and MTSS lens—ensuring AI is used to strengthen Tier 1 instruction and support Tier 2/3 intervention systems. This role designs professional learning, supports classroom integration, and interfaces with the district’s edtech ecosystem to ensure tools and practices are instructionally sound, safe, and scalable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Curriculum-First AI Integration: Identify where AI supports curriculum, instruction, assessment, and teacher workflow; develop exemplars and guidance aligned to district priorities.
  • MTSS/Tiered Instruction Support: Partner with instructional teams to ensure AI strengthens differentiation, intervention planning, and targeted supports without replacing evidence-based practices.
  • Professional Learning & Coaching: Plan and deliver ongoing training; provide job-embedded support (co-planning, modeling, coaching cycles) for teachers, coaches, and administrators.
  • EdTech/Systems Interface: Collaborate with edtech/IT and curriculum teams to support AI tool implementation within the district ecosystem (platform alignment, classroom workflows, integration readiness, adoption supports).
  • Tool Vetting & Responsible Use (with district leadership/IT): Support review of AI tools for instructional fit, accessibility, and safe use; help develop and maintain staff/student guidance and best practices.
  • Implementation & Evaluation: Lead pilots as needed; collect feedback and usage indicators; recommend improvements and scaling strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education (or closely related field).
  • 10+ years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MTSS/tiered instruction and intervention, differentiation, and core instructional practices.
  • 3–4 years experience integrating educational technology into classroom instruction.
  • Strong ability to facilitate professional learning, coach educators, and produce clear, teacher-ready resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • District-level curriculum/coach/leadership experience.
  • Experience evaluating tools and supporting implementation at scale; familiarity with accessibility/UDL and diverse learners.
  • AI-in-education certification(s) or equivalent documented training/credentialing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong instructional design, curriculum alignment, and adult learning facilitation skills.
  • Ability to translate AI capabilities/limits into practical classroom routines and supports.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills; ability to work cross-functionally with curriculum, campus leadership, and edtech/IT teams.
