POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direct guidance, direction, and oversight: Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output. Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job, programming measurements, and marking material for cutting or shaping on VIP aircraft modifications in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.

·         Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job to meet blueprint requirements.

·         Knowledge of proper working material per engineering documentation and taking measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping

·         Knowledge on importing modes from Solid Works and programming tool paths on Mastercam

·         Select appropriate size of batches, speed of machine, etc.

·         Select appropriate tooling for Anderson Stratus Pro-3 axis router and position material for job

·         Observe company rules and regulations, including housekeeping and proper use of safety methods and the safe operation of equipment.

·         Adheres to all record-keeping requirements and paperwork to ensure work is performed I.A.W stated documents and following the protocol of RSQM and IOP’s.

·         Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperatures, identify issues, and perform preventive maintenance.

·         Mentor junior collogues in proficiencies of running CNC Programming/Operation

·         Ensure a clean and safe work environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

·         High School Diploma, or GED, plus proven experience as a machinist.

·         Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (CNC, grinders etc.)

·         Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

·         Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Able to read, interpret and understand blueprints.

·         Must be self-starting and motivated with the desire to learn.

·         Ability to apply the use of routine to complex mathematical problems to solve work issues.

·         Ability to comprehend and retain OJT.

·         Ability to read measuring devices such as a scale or caliper or other required tools.

·         Ability to use basic shop equipment (drill press, band saw, sander, etc.).

·         Ability to use basic hand tools (grinder, drill motor, wrenches, etc.).

·         Ability to read and write English.

·         Strong ability to provide verbal and written communication.

·         Mastercam experience.

·         Anderson Router experience preferred.
