Description

As a Data Scientist within Oracle's Consumer Global Industries Unit, you will help turn complex, multi-source data into actionable intelligence supporting Oracle Industry Applications. You will design, implement, and validate machine learning models and digital analytics solutions that address real-world industry challenges. Working closely with data architects, data engineers, business stakeholders, and industry subject matter experts, you'll apply best practices in feature engineering, statistical analysis, and model development—all within enterprise cloud environments. Your ability to translate business needs into impactful data science solutions, leveraging clean, governed, and scalable data platforms, will be key to your success.

 

Required Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience applying machine learning and advanced analytics in business or enterprise environments.

- Proven ability to develop, validate, and deploy supervised and unsupervised models using modern data science toolkits (Python, R, scikit-learn, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).

- Experience manipulating and analyzing large-scale datasets in cloud environments – strong familiarity with OCI, AWS, and/or Azure data and ML services.

- Experience collaborating with data engineers and architects to leverage platform architectures (e.g., data lakes, medallion architecture, ETL pipelines).

- Strong skills in data wrangling, feature engineering, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in an enterprise setting; experience with regulated industries is a plus.

- Excellent business communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to explain complex models and results in clear, actionable terms.

- Experience working in global, cross-functional, and agile teams.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business domain experts to understand industry-specific data challenges and formulate analytic approaches for Oracle Industry Applications.

- Develop, train, validate, and deploy ML models and analytic solutions tailored to sector-specific use cases (e.g., consumer, retail, CPG).

- Leverage data platform architectures (including medallion architectures) and cloud services (OCI, AWS, Azure) to source, explore, clean, transform, and feature-engineer large datasets.

- Conduct rigorous statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and exploratory data analysis to generate actionable insights.

- Build data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings and business value to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Operationalize models within enterprise data pipelines, ensuring scalability, reproducibility, and maintainability.

- Monitor model performance and data quality; retrain models and update analytic solutions as data or business requirements evolve.

- Adhere to and help enforce data governance, compliance, and security practices within all analytic workflows.

- Stay current on emerging AI/ML techniques, tools, and industry trends, and recommend enhancements to team capabilities.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $73,700 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
