Duties

  • Provide subject matter expertise on architecture/data governance frameworks, data security, data management, and risk management for AI.
  • Lead the AI data program, including the development and enforcement of data policies and procedures related to data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Develop and facilitate analytics-gathering methods and develop strategic insights from data sets and provide recommendations on new analytics technologies and architectures.
  • Collaborate and consult with contractors, CMS components and outside organizations for effective interchange of information and resolution of complex problems.
  • Develop and prepare a variety of written products, including briefing documents, special reports, technical documentation, analyses and issue papers for senior management to make program operations decisions.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:

  1. Using modern programming languages to develop or support Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) applications, software, or systems; AND
  2. Leading cross-functional IT projects from initiation and planning through implementation and maintenance stages; AND
  3. Collaborating with leadership to ensure alignment of emerging technology adoption with administration priorities; AND
  4. Developing a variety of written products briefing documents, such as, special reports, technical documentation, or issue papers to help senior management make informed program decisions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

  • San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland, CA - $157,236 - $197,200 (Salary Table)
  • Seattle-Tacoma, WA - $141,367 - $197,200 (Salary Table)
  • Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA - $143,913 - $187,093 (Salary Table)
