FPGA & Microcontroller Programmer Location: Natick, MA Type: Full-Time Busek Co. Inc. is seeking a skilled FPGA and Microcontroller Programmer to support the development of advanced space systems. In this full-time position, you will work as a Busek employee under the technical direction of our partners at Cascodium. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on programming skills and a solid foundation in digital electronics. You will contribute directly to the design, implementation, and testing of embedded systems critical to next-generation spacecraft subsystems.Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test firmware for FPGAs and microcontrollers used in aerospace systems
Implement and optimize digital logic designs, including VHDL/Verilog development for FPGA platforms
Support low-level embedded programming and interface integration
Collaborate closely with engineers at Busek and Cascodium to define requirements and validate performance
Contribute to documentation and design reviews to ensure system reliability and compliance
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated programming experience with FPGAs (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera) and microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, TI, Microchip, etc.)
Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA development
Experience with embedded C/C++ for microcontroller firmware
Strong understanding of digital electronics and signal interfacing
Ability to work independently under technical guidance from senior engineers
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Computer Engineering, or a related field
Experience with simulation, synthesis, and verification tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim)
Familiarity with spacecraft systems or aerospace/defense applications is a plus
Additional Information:
Must be a U.S. citizen due to government contract requirements
Position is on-site in Natick, MA
Reports directly to Busek management but takes day-to-day technical direction from Cascodium team
