Position Summary Amconex Group is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to lead the development and execution of our enterprise AI strategy. This is a hands-on strategic leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. This role will be responsible for identifying, designing, and deploying AI and machine learning solutions that enhance product innovation, optimize operations, and drive business performance across our industrial motor control and power systems portfolio.
This is not a pure tech or research role. The ideal candidate is a business-oriented data leader who can translate AI into measurable EBITDA impact across the global business. The ideal candidate will bridge advanced AI technologies with real-world industrial applications—supporting engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams.Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute Amconex Group's enterprise AI and machine learning strategy aligned with business objectives
Identify high-impact use cases across commercial, engineering design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer solutions
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on AI trends, risks, relevant technology/solution stacks, and opportunities
Data Strategy & Governance
Own the company-wide data and AI strategy, aligning initiatives with PE value creation goals and the CEO’s operational priorities
Establish data governance standards — clean data foundation, master data management, and data quality monitoring across all branches
Evaluate and manage AI/data vendor relationships; lead build-vs-buy decisions for analytics tools and platforms
Ensure cybersecurity, compliance, and ethical AI practices across all initiatives
Product & Engineering Innovation
Drive integration of AI into Amconex Group's product portfolio (e.g., predictive maintenance, intelligent motor controls, energy optimization)
Partner with R&D and Engineering to enhance product performance through data-driven insights
Lead development of embedded and edge AI capabilities within industrial control systems
Operational Excellence
Implement AI-driven solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, forecasting, scheduling, and quality control
Utilize predictive analytics to improve supply chain performance and reduce downtime
Establish data pipelines and infrastructure to support scalable AI deployment
Develop predictive models for dispatch optimization, demand forecasting, and preventive maintenance scheduling
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams to develop AI-enabled offerings and value propositions
Collaborate with IT and Digital teams to align AI initiatives with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, etc.)
Translate complex AI concepts into actionable business strategies for non-technical stakeholders
Change Management & Adoption
Champion AI adoption across operations, training branch managers and field supervisors to trust and use data-driven tools
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
8-12 years of progressive experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or advanced analytics
Track record of translating data and AI initiatives into measurable operational and financial outcomes — margin improvement, cost reduction, and revenue growth
Change management experience — proven ability to drive adoption of data-driven tools among technical & non-technical users
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or engineering-driven environments strongly preferred
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling techniques
Familiarity with AI applications in scheduling, routing, estimating, or predictive maintenance
Understanding of ERP systems (IFS preferred), data integration, and enterprise architecture
Leadership & Business Acumen
Proven ability to translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes
Strong executive presence and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Experience managing budgets, roadmaps, and enterprise-scale initiatives
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
