Job Description:
- Reporting to the Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Process simple to complex machined parts using supplied solid models or 2D drawings. The process will
include all aspects of machining including programming, fixture design, tool selections, set-up instructions
(verbal and written), proper machining strategies, and inspection.
- Instruct, guide, and train CNC Machinists as required.\Set-up and machine parts if required due to absenteeism or heavy workload.\Maintain proper material, tooling, and machine shop supply inventory.
- Suggest and implement new tooling that will increase part quality and efficiency, while maintaining cost effectiveness.
- Provide input on prototype machine designs so that they are more easily processed.
- Work with CNC Machinist to improve and maintain shop cleanliness and organization (5S)
- Work with the team to develop and maintain the preventative maintenance activities of the shop floor equipment.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have the following technical and soft skills:
- You must be proficient in running and programming 3-axis CNC mills and lathes using CAM software (Mastercam)
- You must have a good background in cutting tool selection.
- You must have good organization and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Fanuc and/or Hass controls.
- Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment.
- Intermediate to advanced ability to create and manipulate solid models in a 3D CAD software; preferably Solidworks. If you do not have a Solidworks background, we will invest in training.
- You must be positive. We are a small group that enjoys each other’s company.
Desired Skills:
- Welding, MIG, and brazing.
- Basic fabrication skills.
- Ability to operate/program a CMM and interpret CMM reports.
- Ability to run a surface grinder.
